…we photograph things because that looks like photographs. I do that all the time. Everyone starts, you photograph a barn, for example, because that’s an idea of beautiful. I think that keeps changing with time, from Walker Evans to Eggleston, there’s a new idea of what the cliché beautiful thing is, even if it’s an empty parking lot. That’s okay, I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem is, is the nature of the medium itself. In a world where the 2 billionth photograph has been uploaded to Flickr, which looks like an Eggleston picture! How do you deal with making photographs with the tens of thousands of photographs being uploaded to Facebook every second, how do you manage that? How do you contribute to that? What’s the point? It’s a real struggle.

“How do you comtribute to that?” DANG.

This is a test to see how powerful/far the reach of Tumblr might be.
I’m looking for full-time employment, and the opportunity to live in a mid-size to large city. I need to work with people, in an environment where my co-workers create things, encourage each other, and are in general not crazy or rude. I am a hard worker with many interests, skills, and experiences that I will gladly bring to the right team in order to take care of business. I am completely willing to relocate.
Do you have a place for me? Can you provide a tip or guidance that would help me in my search? I would like to hear from you. Please email me at kschickler at gmail.
Thank you!

Last month I had the pleasure of visiting several friends in northern Colorado. Just two months into their new lives they have already welcomed several families and friends to their new home, and after finding a cheap ticket and a lucky break in my calendar I jumped at the chance to go. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the film I took, as promised.
One week of beautiful hearts, stunning scenery, sweet friendship, and amazing karaoke was indescribably good for me.
